Windfirming
Windfirming is a process in which an arborist removes drag out of a tree by either pruning (delimbing), or topping the stem. This ensures the trees remain standing during wind events, thus protecting sensitive habitat. This process is normally done in the forest industry to help maintain forest health. Typically done along the edges of a cutblock that has been logged up to a fish bearing stream, steep gully, or some form of wildlife habitat. Windfirming is an essential part of responsible logging practice. We take pride in maintaining the integrity of the forest in order to support forest growth and life for the future.
